Devil's Icebox
We went to a MO State Park and visited the Devil's Icebox - who knew there would be so many stairs. All my pictures turned out blurry - splendid!
Then we went to Peach Tree Farms and bought the best peaches I've ever had. No pictures of those - they were eaten in record time.

We seem to do a lot of this lately...
What else is there to do in 107 degree weather.
I got a lot of shots like this:

yet was lucky enough to get one like this:
2nd Grade Spelling Bee
She did it again - it only took a year of practice and mean old mom making her do it. But it's over and we're really proud of Little Miss Abilene. After she won she showed me her trophy and said, "I deserve this because I cried enough about it." Wow, not really the lesson I wanted her to learn since her tears were from NOT wanting to practice. But she did and she won and they made it all the way to the 3rd grade words. Great Job Little Miss Abilene! LMA also read the Hunger Games Trilogy which brought her reading score to 300% for the year! Great year LMA - hope 3rd grade is just as successful (her winning word)!!!
Worst campout in history?
June 2012 - Lortz Cousin Second Annual Camp Out!
These pictures were taken before all the excitement when everything was going well. There was fishing, smores, target practice, races, snapping turtles, we had it all. Around 10:30 pm Jason left to take Kyson home - and it started to rain - hard. I ran inside to give E a bath and Kelly got her SUV to get the kids but in that time the wind and rain broke a pole on the tent and the 4 older cousins were terrified. There was screaming, crying, falling, running for their life... good times, good times.

Uncle J - I seem to have gotten the wire messed up...
Moving along...
We'll take a nice big jump from Christmas to Easter - I'm sure there were plenty of exciting things going on but I didn't seem to take any pictures of it. I did go back to work full-time in August 2011 - maybe that has something to do with it!
On Easter Sunday we went to a Easter Egg Hunt where they dropped eggs out of a helicopter - great idea but WAY too many people. We won't be doing that next year. Not the best pictures - too much sun in their eyes and who would want to take pictures when there's candy to find.

Christmas 2011 in Arizona
Wow - I'm finding that I really didn't take many pictures this last year... Christmas
was in Arizona with the Ratliff family. A lot of fun and way too short
of a visit. There was the plane ticket fiasco - the tickets that I
thought I bought for travel on Dec. 24 were actually for Sept. 24. Who
knew! Thank you mom and dad for making it possible for us to still
visit! I love seeing the girls with her Ratliff cousins... wish they
could see them more often.
Dad had the big 7-0 b-day while we were there. Looking good dad!
We're Back...
And here we go with the update...
E graduated from pre-school and will start kindergarten in the fall. These pictures are from May of 2011.
